Instructor: Loraine Torrence
We will study the essential principles and elements of design for quiltmakers in any style. Classes will consist of discussion and critique of assignments given the month before on specific design elements and principles including: color, value, scale, balance, unity and illusion of depth. Assignments will be mock-ups on studies, not full quilts, in order to encourage experimentation and learning. Emphasis will be on learning to recognize problems and successes in quilts in an objective way and find ways to improve the problems.
