Collins curved basting pins are nickel plated and will not rust. The 1-1/2" length allows you to secure your quilt so the layers will not move on you. Curved pins are easier to insert and take out of the quilt. Place pins 2" - 5" apart, depending on the type of batting you are using. Begin in the center of the quilt and pin-baste to the edges.
